Born and raised in the beautiful city of Chicago, IL, it was fate that I would make a career out of capturing beauty, visually. I always loved movies and had an interest in cameras when I was younger. I took my first photography class in high school. However, it was not until I enrolled in Howard University, that my eye for the visual arts truly developed.
Initially thinking I was going to soundtrack movies, some how, some way I got my hands on a camera to film an event on campus and it was over from there. I was afforded many opportunities in college to begin my journey as a cinematographer. I met a local director and shot a hit web series entitled "Skye's The Limit." I shot at an event for Beautiful Textures at New York's Fall 2012 Fashion Week. I went to the Creative Minds In Toronto film program where I was in a short film contest and won Best Cinematographer and my team took home Best Film, Best Actress, and Best Producer. In addition, I interned for Women In Film and Video Washington, DC and for Oscar-Nominated documentary filmmaker Ginny Durrin.
Now graduated, I am starting this new chapter in life to become one of the best in the industry. Whether I'm shooting with Rev. Jesse Jackson's Studio Crew at The Rainbow PUSH Coalition, or taking pictures and producing video content for local events like Prolific Goodz, I am somewhere training my eye. I am back in Chicago, a city I once knew as a child, with a fresh start and desire to work my way up to the top!
